Faneca announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday, the Arizona Republic reports. Faneca, the Steelers' first-round draft pick in 1998, was selected to nine consecutive Pro Bowls during his 13-year career. He also played with the Jets for two seasons before playing in the desert in 2010. This could be a real setback for the Cardinals. Keep an eye on this and see if they make a Free Agent move for an O Lineman or two. Otherwise, the new QB may not have much of a chance. The Cardinals, who have not drafted an offensive lineman in two years, had been hoping to have Faneca back to anchor the left side; Rex Hadnot may now make the move to left guard.
