Caleb Campbell To Be A Lion At Last.

According to The Military Times, former Lions 2008 seventh-round pick Caleb Campbell will be at the team's rookie minicamp on Thursday. Campbell, who's completed his two years of duty for the Army, anticipates signing a contract with the Lions "very, very soon." The 25-year-old is obviously going to be rusty, and will have to learn to play outside linebacker in Detroit. Campbell (6'2/224) played strong safety in college.

Better late than never. I like it as it is like The Lions got an extra D player in the draft this year.

  • Mlive reports Detroit Lions OLB Caleb Campbell, who had hoped to be at all of the OTAs, wasn't in attendance Thursday. Campbell still has a commitment to the Army and needs to be officially cleared to play football. That hasn't come yet, but HC Jim Schwartz said the team didn't expect any complications. Schwartz also said when Campbell returns to Detroit, he'll be fully cleared to play football and will be released from active duty.
