Cable taps McFadden as Raiders starter

I'd love to own DMac, but like you Ram I need to be shown that he can provide the points to be a starter. If I had him, I'd probably sit him week 1 just to see how things go.

while you guys prefer to wait till he gets point to use him, I'll gladly use him week one and watch him put in a solid outing.

the bench for me and likely will remain until the Raiders show they can hang within 30 points of an opponent, any opponent.

Many owners who play in deeper leagues do not have the luxury of "benching him and see how it plays out". Like myself, I used my 3.14 pick on him as my RB2. With such a deep league, I don't have another viable option with such upside.

Historically, Zach Miller is one of the few effective guys against the Chargers.

While I don't expect anything crazy via the ground game, he's definitely a solid RB2 in PPR. I think Russell will want to utilize the short game with Miller and plenty of check downs to DMAC.

All in all, Cable has stated numerous times that DMAC will get the ball plenty of Sunday. Just have to hope he can get a decent rhythmn going and make a big play or 2.

Most folks see the Chargers lighting up the Raiders, me included. I know DMac is involved in the passing game but this is, still, the Raiders which to me means they won't be able to move the ball much. IF he scores much at all it will mostly be in the first half when screens and stretch plays still make sense. Second half it is likely the Raiders will try to air it out.

Yeah the Raiders suck and all but I remember the Chargers D sucking pretty bad last year too. I know Merriman was out and now he'll be back but he'll be on a snap count (40 plays from what I've read) so that tells me he's not 100% healthy.

The Raiders can run the ball and I think this game will be close enough for them not to completely abandon the run. I see the Chargers winning by 14+ points in the end but DMC will get his along the way.

If the Raiders can keep the game competitive, McFadden shouldn't have a problem getting 20 touches, with Bush getting 10-12.

The big question here is whether Russell will be able to force the defense to back away from the line.
