Bills | Edwards praises young WRs Mon Jun 21, 08:44 PM
Chris Brown, from BuffaloBills.com, reports Bills QB Trent Edwards was asked if he's seen improvement in his game through the course of OTAs with respect to the offense. While he briefly addressed his own progress, he made sure to praise the young receiving corps. "I still have a lot to learn," said Edwards. "There are still things I need to iron out. There are still things I need to get on the same page with some receivers. I like a lot of the young receivers we have. I think it's the best group of young receivers we've had since I've been here. I've been really encouraged with those guys. Just getting on the same page with those guys. I'm happy with where my mechanics are but once you get content you're not going to get any better. So I need to continue to improve and continue to get better."
Our view: The Bills have one of the most unproven WR corps in the entire league, but that doesn't mean they lack talent or potential. James Hardy has a good size/speed combination, but his pro career has been marred by injury and inconsistency. Steve Johnson is a physical WR who isn't afraid to go over the middle of a defense. Rookie Marcus Easley might have the highest upside out of the bunch, but must develop his game after only being a one-year starter at UCONN.

No mention of Evans. He will be heavily covered this season.

I cant put much stock into what QB Trent Edwards has to say on this subject of praising the Bills WR when he has one foot on the banana peel, one foot in the grave in Buffalo

As good ole JR says, potential wont always buy you the groceries. The talent is there. but will it finally show up on the field?

(RotoWire) Judging from practice repetitions during the Bills' three-day minicamp, third-year man Steve Johnson will be giving third-year man Hardy (groin) a strong run for a starting No. 2 receiving job, The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Hardy isn't full boat yet due to minor offseason groin surgery and is still probably a slight favorite for the job, but he'll have to hold off Johnson, Marcus Easley, Chad Jackson and a few others for the starting No. 2 role. It'll be an interesting training camp battle, though even the winner will have limited upside in 2010. At least we know Hardy has the size to haul in touchdowns if he figures out the rest of the pro game and earns a starting spot.

(RotoWire) Judging from practice repetitions during the Bills' three-day minicamp, third-year man Johnson will be giving third-year man James Hardy a strong run for a starting No. 2 receiving job, The Buffalo News reports. Analysis: Lee Evans is locked into the No. 1 spot and the Bills seem to be eying Roscoe Parrish for the No. 3 slot role, so the No. 2 job is about as open as you can get. We'd consider Hardy a slight favorite, followed by Johnson, and after those two rookie Marcus Easley and journeyman Chad Jackson have more of an outside shot to steal the spot.

(TheHuddle) Buffalo Bills WR James Hardy underwent surgery this offseason to repair a sports hernia, a source told ESPN.com's Tim Graham. Analysis: It remains to be seen if the injury slows Hardy as he attempts to crack the Bills' receiver rotation, though Lee Evans is the only member of that group who projects to have much if any fantasy value this season.
