The Buccaneers agreed to a contract with Jones on Tuesday, according to Pewter Report. Sean Jones played in 15 games for the Eagles last season after spending the first part of his career in Cleveland. He's expected to compete with Sabby Piscitelli for the starting strong safety job.

Stephen Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris appears to envision S Sean Jones playing a physical role with the team. Morris said, "He's a nice box presence, but he also has some athleticism on the back end and some big-time movement. You're talking about a guy who, when you see him, you'll see a demanding presence. You'll see a guy who comes in the box and you have to account for. He has all the qualities we like. We're fired up to have him."
