(Rotoworld) The Boston Herald calls Brandon Tate "a strong candidate" to emerge as the Patriots' No. 3 receiver. Analysis: The No. 1 is Randy Moss and the No. 2 is whoever's in the slot (Julian Edelman or Wes Welker). Tate is getting a lot of spring hype, but he's got to beat out promising rookie Taylor Price and trusty veteran Torry Holt to win the gig. We'd consider Tate a much stronger candidate for kickoff returns.

rotoworld,
Patriots WR Brandon Tate continues to consistently run with the starting offense at Organized Team Activities.

He appears to be ahead of both Sam Aiken and Torry Holt. The Boston Herald notes that it "seems like trust is growing" between Tate and quarterback Tom Brady. Though the third receiver position (behind flanker Randy Moss and whoever's in the slot) doesn't offer enormous potential, Tate remains a player to monitor closely. He could flirt with fantasy value if Moss went down.
