Brandon Marshall spoke out about his benching

Tonight at around 5:45 mountain embattled Brandon Marshall surprised a local radio program (FM 104.3 The Fan) by spending 10 minutes live to discuss his side of the Sunday deactivation for the Chiefs game. According to Marshall he was told by trainers on Wednesday that Coach McDaniels wanted him to concentrate on getting treatment for his bum hammy and to be in the training room over going to meetings.

He went on to add that McDaniels wanted to see if Marshall still cared about the team and season now that he made the Pro Bowl. Marshall said McDaniels expected him to lobby to let him attend meetings and play on Sunday, insinuating that McDaniels used the trainers message to test Marshall's will to play.

When pressed whether or not Marshall expects or wants to be a Bronco next year he replied, "I'm a Bronco until someone tells me otherwise." Marshall also spent considerable time praising Coach McDaniels and his staff stating he would not be the player his is today without them.

I tend to think there is some truth to Brandon's version of the story considering the guy played through multiple injuries and got an IV on the sidelines of the Eagles game because he didn't want to miss a 2 minute drill. More to follow for sure.

It was clear he wanted to accomplish the following things:

1) Not come across as a selfish ass who doesn't care about his coach's authority or team....for the free agent market.
2) Make sure that everyone knows (ie the free agent market) that healthy or not he intended and planned to good regardless of injury
3) Cast enough doubt on McDaniels story knowing full well he's been caught lying about players in the past which could further shine his image.
