Bills RB Fred Jackson reports to Voluntary Workouts, Gets 2 year Extention

The Buffalo Bills would like to hammer out a contract extension with RB Fred Jackson at some point, but do not expect any progress this week. Jackson, however, was present for the start of the team's voluntary offseason conditioning program Monday, April 23, and harbors no plans of a holdout. "It's just not the time," Jackson said. "This week they have the draft coming up. That's what they're focusing on. I'll just continue to be patient and see what happens. It's like I've said all along, I think something will get done. (General manager) Buddy (Nix) said that they want to get something done, so I'll just continue to put faith in that."

I have always been a Fred Jackson fan, drafted him as a rookie in a couple of dynasty leagues....good guy, good player; the kind of person the NFL does indeed need, to offset the likes of a TO, Moss or say Crabtree.

Right there with you RLLD, have been a huge Jackson fan from the beginning. Hope he gets a good contract and continues to contribute.

he's 31 years old. smart to not hold out. he'd be lucky to get what's being offered forte. wouldn't hold your breath on it

all true: great guy, great story, great determination and will to make it, and on top of that produce when finally making it... however i wouldn't pay him big money, and i would think he's smart enough not to expect it. last season was his best season, probably for his career, and he only made it through 10 games. i would expect a 2, maybe 3 year deal with at most 7 or 8 guaranteed, with plenty of extra incentives. and if he knows what's good for him, he will sign it, and start planning where to put his millions
