BIGGEST TRADE IN FANTASY FOOTBALL HISTORY?

sorry i made another post but things keep changing every day. its an enormous trade for sure

this is the trade I AM THINKING OF GIVING

12 team standard

MY TEAM:

peyton
B Roethlisberger ®
M Schaub ®
B Jacobs ®
M Turner
MJD
K Walter
M Sims-Walker
S Holmes ®
Breaston

HIS TEAM:

M Hasselbeck
J. Freeman ®
D Williams
R Mendenhall
C Portis ®
C Ochocinco
M Colston
M Crabtree
D Mason ®

i give: big ben, sims-walker, and holmes
he gives: colston, ochocinco, and crabtree

heres my reasoning:

Giving up Big Ben is a freebie and he greatly greatly improves his QB corps.

Colston is losing A BIT of momentum because drew brees is using his other weapons and giving colston a bit of a lesser role. but only a bit. i see him as a mid #1

ocho is also a high #2 and he has an easier playoff schedule than sims-walker

crabtree is a #3-#4 WR

so hes basically giving me a mid #1, high #2 and #3/4 receiver and im giving him a top 5 QB, a low end #1 in sims-walker, and a solid #2 in holmes

IS THIS A FAIR TRADE FOR BOTH SIDES?

if not, my original offer is:

big ben and holmes for colston aand crabtree

PS. he hasnt offered it and i am thinking of offering it. so dont b liek YEAH TAKE IT or whatever lol

Your Qb's will be a little thin after P.Manning if you trade Roethlisberger, Sims walker is playing good now

The only player you will be gaining with LOTS of value is #85 IMO.

Re-read your reasoning it speaks volumes

really? peyton and matt schaub is thin?

i feel that getting the lower end of the deal is acceptable for me because of what a gain, as i am giving up basically 2 WR for 3, since big is merely a bench player for me

Schaub and Peyton are not thin, in fact they're ranked either #1/#2 or #2/#3 in my PPR and nonPPR leagues. Trading Big Ben makes sense. Getting Colston and COC are strong moves (as both are still their QB's favorite targets no matter how many other weapons are added to the arsenal) and your rational is very impressive.

If he goes for this, I'd do it.

If Payton goes down, do you all really think that Schaub could fill in with solid performances week in and week out, :nonoblue: doubt it

Its not a fair assessment to wonder if a trade, post-performances was a good offer.

derringer:

can't you say that about any QB you have?

so you dont think that it would be good to trade away one of my QBs when im obviously in need of a WR?

I think Matt Schaub is an excellent back up. Hell he's a good starter for most teams. Don't be worried about QB.

Offer it. You wont know if he'll accept till he says yes or no.

No i cant sat that about my QB's except maybe in the SOFFL II, i have Roth and Flacco as my QB's, BTW: i started Flacco this week instead of Roethlisberger

There are great FF minds here @ SO listen to the majority

yeah i know derringer everyone here is pretty smart

this is the first time ive been here too because i know that a first year player like myself doesnt have the mental capacity of a trade like this

do you have any advice that i can use to get this trade done by any chance?

btw im not surprised u picked flacco over ben... big vs a top team in the league... or flacco vs the browns?

so the trade would then be...

big ben or schaub (which) and breaston and holems or sims

for colston and ocho?

i dont see what you think the trade should be now. sorry for my ignorance

also, do you think it would be fair for him as well, whatever your trade is?

Go for the guys you feel most confident with for the initial trade. There is a chance that he will analyze your team and offer you a slightly different counter trade. Since you have a few options trade-able options on your roster, don't feel like you have to predict his wishes 100%.

Trades, if done right, are about negotiating. You know you have viable and valuable options so this biggest mistake you can make is not believing you can negotiate through the waves of this trade. And don't worry, cuz we'll be here to guide you thru the counters.

I thought I knew a ton about FF until I met the gang on Sports Outlaw. I've learned a lot and grown. And I no longer worry about hanging out on a limb... unless the Bucs are on the field in uniform. LOL.

problem rachelle

our trade deadline is tuesday at midnight.

i can tell you are all very knowledgable... can you give me a reason or 2 why he shouldnt rely on hasselback and freeman to get him the championship?

i have the luxury of talking to him at school over the next few days though so ill keep you posted

the main issue im having right now is getting a trade he will think is fair. he has said these trades are fair but he is a bit hesitant to take it because of "how it will make my team"

i am also definitely willing to take the low end of the deal in order to improve my team.

being a first year player doesn't help calm my nerves either lol.

What Red Zone said

YES. Freeman isn't going to get him into the championship. He's a hot mess with no chance of reaching star quality this season.

Hass might could get him there, but he's so prone to injury that it's a gamble. Hass did well this week, but he can just as easily get shut down. I have Hass in one of my PPR leagues and I only play him when I think he'll be forced to throw. Remember, he's already got barley healed ribs and now a sore shoulder. He's a week to week starting QB and your guy will remember the few weeks while he sat in the nurses office.

Anyone trying to get into the championship with Hass and Freeman over an option like Hass/Big Ben or Hass/Schaub is smoking something good. If you have face to face time with guy, I'd be saying things like "hey man, you really gonna put all your eggs is Hass's basket? One good sack and your stuck with Baby Face Freeman and his WR who just LOVE to drop the ball"

If you're up against a Tues/midnight deadline, don't worry. You've got something he wants, just remind him how much he wants it. Any given Sunday Brady (or anybody else) can go down with a season-ending injury. Use that.

yes i do have face to face time with him. i have classes with him :)

hes basically going on that michael fabiano (our nfl.com league analyst) said that freeman could be a sleeper this season so yeah.

im trying to get an idea of what kind of trades real professionals like yourselves think could work. i know he is going to want a good WR to replace his, especially if he's giving up ocho and colston, his 2 top WRs. thats why im debating if he'll like holmes. I REALLY LIKE TO TRY TO PUT MYSELF IN HIS SHOES.

big ben is basically a bench player for me so i figure giving him up is like nothing.

big ben and holmes for ocho and colston... could this WORK?

im also trying to contemplate how to get him to believe that ben can carry him

Brady (or anybody else) can go down with a season-ending injury

i see what you did there. CASSEL!

Well, I'm sorry to contradict Fabiano, but having the pleasure of seeing Freeman at training camp, pre-season games and now 2 regular season games Freeman is no Flaco or Ryan. He's making every rookie mistake game by game. He's easily frustrated AND his receivers have now played with their 4th QB this season (counting pre-season). Lets just say that the Chemistry in the receiving corp is less than explosive.

Considering Colston sometimes has games like today, I think now is the most ideal time to wave "All of Brees' offensive weapons" into your negotiations and focus on Holmes' accomplishments. Yes, your trade offer can work. But don't spend too much time trying to be him bc you run the risk of losing your edge. You want him to want what you've got. That feeling comes from you bragging about how great your guys are... and could be for him if he's smart enough to get them.
