The Big Ten announced its divisional breakdown Wednesday night and Ohio State and Michigan will be in different six-team divisions when the league expands to 12 members in 2011.

Neither division has been named but they break down like this: Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern in one. Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana in the other.

Big Ten Conference to split Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, sources say - ESPN

Kinda an interesting split. I would have rather seen OSU and Mich, but they are keeping their rivalry game at the end of the season so we at least keep that.

I don't like the possibility of having two OSU/UM matchups in the same year. I'd rather see them in the same division with the game at the end.

Agree 100%

But I like this over them moving the game to October....

Meh.

All it did was confirm for the next few years Nebraska and OSU will face each other in the championship.

The one division with OSU, Penn State and Wisconsin is very strong.

Michigan is down, Iowa is up and down, and Mich.State is Hyde and Hyde. Nebraska has an easier road.

Crap...that kinda sucks for me. I have liked to see them being in the same division. I am a big fan of that rivalry as a Wolverines fan.
