Bears | Bennett projected to start Thu Jun 4, 12:29 PM
Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears WR Earl Bennett is projected to start at wide receiver opposite WR Devin Hester.
Our view: Earl Bennett was Jay Cutler's favorite target at Vanderbilt and they have great chemistry on the field. While Hester should stretch the defense with his deep speed Bennett will be working the short and underneath routes. Bennett runs sharp, precise routes and knows how to get open with his quick feet. If the Bears sign Plaxico Burress it would most likely be Bennett and not Hester that would be bumped out of the starting lineup.

Can you say "Third and Earl"? Bennett is pretty quick in short distances and will speed past LBs enough to give Cutler a nice 6-10 yard rec.

I brought Bennett up as a great sleeper option a few weeks ago when it was announced that Cutler went to Chicago. Could very well end up the #1 wide receiver option in Chicago very soon.

With the Vandy connection, his relationship with Cutler will be ahead of the others at the start. It will be interesting to see if Cutler looks to him under pressure more than others due to his comfort level.

Wideouts for sure, in my opinion. I feel that Olsen steps up to the elite level of TE's though.

Earl Bennett Could Have Breakthrough Season --
Mon Jun 15, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Chicago Sun-Times reports Bears WR Earl Bennett had a breakthrough offseason. Bennett, a teammate of QB Jay Cutler's at Vanderbilt who did nothing as a rookie third-round pick last year, has a rapport with Cutler. However, OC Ron Turner points out that Bennett's maturity came before Cutler's arrival. "We had our minicamp early this year before trading for Jay, and all the coaches talked about how good Earl looked and how comfortable and confident he looked," Turner said. "Toward the end of last year you could see that, and getting Jay in here with him made it even more so because he's so comfortable with Jay. Earl is playing really well, and we're excited about it."
