The Bengals have signed first-round pick Andre Smith in a deal that could be as much as $42 million and the Alabama right tackle is expected to be on the field in Sunday's 3 p.m. practice at Paul Brown Stadium.
After a sub par performance by the o-line in the 3rd preseason game the Bengals have finally got Smith signed. This should upgrade their unit, but he lost a TON of time and it will be some time until I expect to see him in the line-up.

His fat ass better produce.

I cant believe they gave him that much guaranteed money.
Sounds like an interesting deal in which Cincy has quite a bit of flexibility:
And so after his standoff with the team ended in an intriguing contract that can be as short as four years at $26 million or as long as six years at $50 million at the club's option, Smith made sure Day 1 was longer than everybody else's.

in the story about his recent injury, it had an interesting note on his contract:
Smith had already made news Tuesday. Citing a league source, ProFootballTalk.com reported that Smith's contract contains a provision that cuts Smith's pay in half for each game in which he weighs in at 350 pounds or higher and is not on the active Game day 45- man roster.
