(Rotoworld) Running backs coach Jim Anderson indicated that Bernard Scott is expected to receive more playing time on offense this year. Analysis: "We're counting on him to be bigger and better than he was last season," said Anderson. "He will play a bigger role in what we do." Scott was rarely involved in the offense in games where Cedric Benson was healthy last year. The Bengals could benefit from using him as a big-play change-of-pace complement to the bruising Benson in 2010.

This should keep Benson healthier this season. I don't see Scott cutting into Benson's production too much.

The official team website for the Bengals reports that RB Bernard Scott expects to be ready for the start of training camp after missing time in June with a badly sprained ankle. "I'm fine. I'm doing the drills. I'm cutting. I've been running for about a month," Scott says.

Analysis: The Bengals would like to give Scott some additional playing time this year in tandem with starter Cedric Benson to help reduce Benson's workload. Scott could also see a boost in value if Benson is suspended for any games following an off-field incident in May. We don't expect Benson to get suspended, and Scott will only be used on a handful of plays. He is worth a late-round pick in all leagues, and is a good handcuff option for Benson.
