Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Bengals may have interest in acquiring Denver Broncos TE Tony Scheffler. When head coach Marvin Lewis was asked about the team's tight end situation, he said some of the questions about the position will be answered before the start of the draft.

Bears TE Greg Olsons' name has been tossed around also.

I was shocked to see that. I do think either Scheffler or Chicago is in play. Chicago actually makes more sense since they are dying for picks. But we know Scheffler is available.

I actually would love to see either in Cincy. That is as long as they actually USE them. Please remember that for most of Lewis' tenure....TE meant extra blocker....period.

Chase Coffman had an injury to his foot and this affected his learning curve.

If given the chance at 6'6 245, if Coffman can get up to speed this kid could be a quality TE in the NFL.

Before last years draft i watched game film on Coffman and he looked good catching the ball in traffic appearing fearless over the middle.

Keep an eye on C.Coffman a diamond in the rough

This is true. The key issue with Coffman is he never took a three point stance in college. He was always standing up like a Wr. Add to that he was never expected to block much.

That is why Cincy has held him back, that and his slow recovery from his foot. I also think he had a follow up injury as well...which caused him to finally be put on IR.

I can't find anything now either :headscratch:

I thought it was rotoworld. I saw a blurb about it while boning up on my baseball.

It didn't say it was a done deal but said TS had faxed a copy of his tender offer to cleveland and implied that this event most likely meant that a trade offer would ensue.

Sorry if my scoop was poop.

no prob, I looked and looked and could find nothing on it.....doesn't look like it's a done deal, but doesn't mean it could not still happen.
