"Cincinnati Enquirer "The Bengals have terminated the contract of running back Chris Perry, and tackle Levi Jones' agent told ESPN today that he expects the team will trade or release his client. Perry, who was a sixth-year player in 2009, battled numerous injuries during his Bengals career and never consistently recaptured the form that made him a Heisman Trophy candidate at Michigan. He ran for 606 rushing yards on 177 carries and scored two touchdowns during his career here. He added 83 receptions for 474 yards and two touchdowns. Jones was a first-round pick in 2002 and was considered a top tackle in the NFL, but injuries have cut his productivity the last three seasons. The Bengals on Saturday selected ..."

Im not shocked at this move. The RB they grabbed from Abilene Christian should be on work release pretty quick, and the other draft and UDFA moves made Perry more than expendable.

Simma down now, simma down. lol

I don't expect Perry will be unemployed for long in this day and age of the RBBC. He was pretty productive when healthy and never even had an alcohol-related incident, to my knowledge.

I saw this coming when they signed Russell before the draft. No surprise here. I was very high on Perry coming into last year but he just was not near the same back I saw be a difference maker as a receiver prior to his run of injuries. He lacked a burst and did not seem to be decisive at all or trust his ankle to make the sharp cuts he once made.

He'll find another gig, but don't expect the back from a few years ago. He may be able to get there over time, but he looks a long way away from that to me, not to mention it's only a matter of time until the next injury.

really.....hmmm, thanks for the info, that surprises me a little, guess they like the young kid they got out of AC.

Either way, Perry's life in Cincy ended when he was replaced by Benson last year.

So is Bernard Scott the likely handcuff to Ced going into camp?

I'm not a fan of taking risks on character-challenged guys, but I'm pulling for Scott. He did alot to try and rehabilitate his image here over the past 2 years and was ridiculously productive.
