Are the Qbs in this draft that bad?

At one point before the combine and personal workouts, I saw some mocks with no Rbs or Qbs in the first round of this draft.

Pose the combine and some workouts I then saw at least Geno Smith going as high as #3 to Oakland. No, never saw KC taking him...sorry folks.

However, now all the top 10 picks are suddenly signing other Qbs.

Oakland looks to trade for Flynn - I doubt the do that AND draft Smith, as they have too many holes on def.
KC traded early for A.Smith
Buffalo just went out and stupidly signed Kolb - still think they go Qb if Smith is there.
Jacksonville was talking about trading for Flynn.


So, is this Qb run that bad? Or are teams looking for NOW Qbs, then drafting for future?

I could see Buffalo going Qb in 2nd round instead and looking at Manuel or Nassib.

Oakland as well if a few drop.

I still think the Jets and Cards draft a QB in the top 10, and to answer your question I don't think they are talented as last years pool, but with the right situation any of these QBs might bode to be decent players. I find it hard to speculate on which QB's(or any offensive skill player) will do well since we dont know where they are landing yet. Its similar to Russel Wilson and Doug Martin for example....both were decent athletes who were considered top 5 at their position, but where they landed proved to be better for their career outlook

I know there will be some teams that will take a chance on a couple of these Qb's in the first round, but I would not be comfortable taking any of them, especially in the first round.

I fully expect that if Geno is there for Buffalo or falls below that, someone will eventually trade up to get him. Not sure any of the others really rate a 1st round pick. I have seen alot of variablity on who is rated as #2 through #5 in Qbs. Nassib, Barkley, Manuel and co. all seem to be rated differently from others.

Their mock has Smith going #2 to Jacksonville.....their last mock had him at #1, but they have dropped it him down a spot.

Smith is a legit top end prospect. The others......meh.....
