An IDP question

So I have James Anderson of Carolina and Patrick Willis of SF... Anderson came outta the gates strong, but appears to be losing steam... willis came out kinda slow, but has finally been getting some sacks and fumbles... they are both tackle machines and usually good for 4-5 pts in our league consistently (willis was a monster this week, Anderson scored 2.5 pts) - Somehow, Ray Lewis got dropped... I know its a sexy name and Ive had him so many times in the past and have avoided him like the plague so far fearing that he was just a name... he seems to be gaining a head of steam now also - and hes forcing late turnovers, AND scoring TDs (which anderson and willis have failed to do thusfar - we cant have a darren sharper 09 guy on the squad every year but... TD is a TD) my question then is do i dare drop james Anderson - a young guy i know will be on the field a lot, hes @ CLE this week, but hasnt forced a turnover or gotten a sack in forever? Or do i steal ray off the free agent list? i figure at this point willis is untouchable - when he's hot like this a bad day is like 6-7 pts... Lewis this week is vs Tampa, wk 15 and 16 is NO and @CLE - Anderson 15 is AZ 16 is @PIT (goo) Willis is @SD 15 and @STL 16 - despite being on the road i think hes hot enough to keep

If this is a dynasty or keeper format, you must keep your youth.

If its a redraft format, go with the hot hand.

For higher tackle #s generally a LB on a shitty team that is always behind and on the field will get more opportunities.

For turnovers, any IDP on a team that is generally leading will get more. Turnovers are more hit and miss though (unless you get a Sharper/Talib or pick up a DB playing Min each week)

I believe Anderson's performance is an anomaly and likely won't carry into next year. The loss of Thomas Davis and Dan Connor has given Anderson a lot more field time. The offense is also so bad, the defense stays on the field more than most teams. Similar circumstances had David Hawthorne putting up great numbers last year.

If you think Ray has a few more years in him, you might consider picking him up. He's been a solid steady IDP player for a long time now.

it is a redraft league so the only future i have to worry about is wk 15 and 16... ideally id keep all three so i could play anderson wk 15 - however i guess there are alotta idp available at any given timeso maybe i will keep anderson for his trip to cleveland at least. if he puts up low numbers again i will feel better dumping him, but with a name like lewis he probably be gone by then
