ADP, VIKINGS ON THE MEND

efactor

Coming at you
Now that he seems to grasp that it's Vikings or nothing, ADP seems ready to get to camp and play some ball. After essentially missing a full season, where do you rank him in PPR redraft this year? Bell and Lacy would be the only two I would take before him and Bell is missing three games, which is a big chunk of the FF regular season.

Bell (out 3 games)
Lacy (nothing not to love here)
Peterson
Forte (Trestman gone, so probably back around 60 catches)
Lynch (Very safe pick)
Foster (see Lynch)
Charles (too inconsistent for my tastes game to game)
McCoy (New team with an unproven QB)
Murray (See McCoy)
Anderson (Could easily finish in top 5)

I could see Peterson finishing #1 overall. I think Bridgewater gives them a good passing game to open up the running lanes a bit more than previous years. Talent is never in doubt and he's playing for a pay day. Leave the child rearing to the nanny and I see a huge year ahead.

Off the top of my head having spent no time yet on my redraft research... I'd take AP @ 1 now considering bells missing 3 games.

Wow! #1 overall? History screams to stay away. RBs who are 30+ years old with 2,000+ carries have rarely had seasons worthy of being the #1 RB selected. In fact, more often than not, owners have been left wondering how in the hell they got duped into making that pick.

I hear ya but to me AP is different for a few reasons...

1. Basically had the year off last season. He'll be rested and ready to rock.
2. His recovery from the knee and the season that followed were something out of a movie. Super human like.
3. He's been referred to as almost super human by doctors as well. His knee cartilage was compared to that of a baby.
4. Vikings O should be pretty good this year with Teddy, Wallace, Charles Johnson, Cordarrelle etc.
5. He's pissed and he's gonna unleash a wrath of fury on D's this year.

Now I could change my mind as preseason wears on... These are my initial thoughts.

All sound logic. To that I have no retort.

For my money, I'm taking Andrew Luck #1 overall.

I do seem to lose my #1 pick more often than not, whether it be injury or big time underperformance. A QB would be a safe bet I suppose... assuming I'm able to capitalize later on.

....and ADP is focused on football now.

NBC Sports reports although RB Adrian Peterson’s father has said that Adrian thinks Vikings COO Kevin Warren worked with the NFL to keep Peterson off the field last year, Peterson now says he’s not thinking about that. “I really haven’t had the opportunity to talk to Kevin Warren, but I will,’’ Peterson told the Pioneer Press. “But right now I’m focused on football. I’m focused on controlling the things that I can control and moving forward.’’

They will use McKinnon to save him some, but it will not be a leeching situation by any means unless his production is waaaay down.
