A Little More Knowshon Moreno This Week?

So, Knowshon Moreno was a bit gimpy still last week. This week he sounds ok and ready to go. But will we see just a little bit more action this week or a lot more action for the rookie. Let's here your imput on this one as a lot of Knowshon owners would probably like to hear your take. Remember, CBuck rushed for a 5.8 yards per carry for the Broncos last week.

"Its An Outrage"
IMHO: Realistically by the 4th-5th week we may see alot more of Moreno barring any setback.

C-Buck did run well week-1 but against the Bengals

Just when I had mustered up the nuts to start Moreno, I find THIS on cbssports.com:

After appearing to be just fine earlier this week, Broncos rookie RB Knowshon Moreno was listed on the team's injury report with a groin problem, which means he got hurt on Thursday. He did not practice on Friday.
(Updated 09/25/2009).

Anyone have any additional news on this?

He plays in the late game, and if I wait 'till game time to find out if he's a GO then I will have to start Donald Brown Sunday night. (maybe that's for the better)

Cbuck is available on the wire, but I'd have to drop James Davis or Earl Bennett to get him. I still have mid-season hope for those 2.

I know you (RC) had good success with Correll, so I'm very tempted.

Talk me into it

(sorry....this thread is beginning to sound like it belongs on the "Advice" board)

Broncos | Moreno a game-time decision for Week 3 Fri Sep 25, 06:10 PM
Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 25. He is listed as questionable for Week 3 and will be a game-time decision.
Our view: With this injury occurring so late in the week (Moreno wasn't on the injury report until today) and the Denver game coming later in the afternoon on Sunday, you're going to have to err on the side of sitting Moreno. Correll Buckhalter becomes an instant RB2 if Moreno is inactive.

but.....

Broncos | Stokley a game-time decision for Week 3 Fri Sep 25, 06:13 PM
Denver Broncos WR Brandon Stokley (thigh) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 25. He is listed as questionable for Week 3 and will be a game-time decision.
Our view: If Stokley can't go, Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall have a much better chance of breaking out of their funk on Sunday.

.....this is all starting to sound like Belichek West.

I am gonna consider using CBuck again this week over pierre, until Thomas shows me something.

The Stokley news means there may be some hope for Royal yet but I'm having a hard time taking him off of my bench. Thanks for the heads up RC, I'll keep an ear out for additional news out of Denver.

Ended up playing and looked great.

21 rushes for 90 yards and a TD

It's definitely a timeshare as Buckhalter received 14 carries but he also coughed up the ball.

Hillis received a goal-line carry but didn't do much with it.

As we believed all offseason, the Broncos are slowly working Moreno in as the featured back.

He's entrenched into my flex spot going forward...barring injury of course.

CBuck had the fumble, but he is by far running the best on that team. Moreno got jacked up on about 4-5 goaline carries and Hillis on 2. CBuck sets them up with his runs and hasn't gotten any endzone love. i bet that changes.

'cept for the fact that CBuck is a power runner and is obviously the hungriest back on the team! I can't help but feel he would have a handful of TD's this year if used in the manner that Hillis and Moreno have been given a crack at.

Not sure why you keep saying that Buckhalter is "by far the best back" and is "obviously the hungriest back" on the team.

Moreno has been stellar so far after missing most of the pre-season with a knee injury. He keeps getting better and better each game and looked very fast/explosive against the Raiders

Moreno is sporting a very modest 4.0 YPC with his long being only 17 yards while Buckhalter has made the most of his carries with a 7.4 YPC with his longs being 45 vs the Browns and 34 vs the Raiders. Long runs will inflate your YPC if you're not getting many. Absolutely no way he would sustain that number if he got full-time carries.

Let's not forget that he's 30 years old and has had 2 major knee reconstructions...a career back-up really.

They compliment each other very well but it's been speculated all season...Moreno will be eased into the starting role with Buckhalter spelling him. Seems to me like a 60/40 spilt right now...

One last comment and this goes for both backs...the Broncos have played 3 games so far. One against a decent DEF in the Bengals and 2 games against cupcake run defenses in the Browns and Raiders.

The schedule gets a lot tougher and we'll see who the more valuable RB will be

He has been the best back so far. It really isn't close.

46 carries for 184 yards or 4 ypc, up against 31 carries for 230 yards or 7.4 ypc (CBuck is dealing)

I am not saying he is the back of the future or even should be the lone feature back. What I am saying is he will put the football in the endzone at a much better clip then Moreno or hillis is acheiving. He is the hungriest back on the team, and he is showing it weekly.
