49ers name Shaun Hill the starter

Per ESPN, the 49ers have named Hill the starter for the 49ers, he beat out former number one pick Alex Smith for the job. Hill is a nice sleeper pick in your fantasy drafts.

It helped that Smith has a thumb injury of some kind...and may not be able to play for a while. Not sure I would want to be the winner of this race.:sweat::biglaugh:

That was in 9 games after he was inserted as the starter and the 49ers went 5-4 after an atrocious start. He also garnered a pretty damn decent 87.5 QB rating.

Extrapolate those stats over 16 games and see if you still think he sucks.

Hill has looked very good while in the game and Smith just looks lost and undisciplined in his decision making in the past.

If the 49ers are going to be successful, Hill is there only chance. IMO

Two years ago I won our league by starting Hill in the title game straight off of the waiver wire over my number one QB who was playing in a blizzard that Sunday. I think it was Palmer. Do you remember cctecguy? Never was a doubt in my mind that Hill would win this job. I wouldn't want him as my number one but he'd be welcome at number two.
