Scot McCloughan told the SF Chronicle on Saturday that he's confident Michael Crabtree will sign with the 49ers soon. "It'll get done," he said.

Crabtree has already turned down a $20M/5-year offer from SF. It is believed that he's looking for a deal similar to Derrius Heyward-Bey, who will be recieving $23.5M in guaranteed cash from his 5-year, $38.25M deal with the Raiders.

Crab needs to stop thinking he was a top 5 pick!!!

If he doesn't sign, he definitly won't be a top 5 pick next year. And personally i would find it humorous if he didn't get picked til late second round and by the Raiders. LOL.

After all this, does SF really want Crab on the team ? He seems really selfish and a younger version of TO.

Even if he does sign I can't see him contributing a whole heck of a lot...at least early in the season. I would much rather have Josh Morgan over Crabbytree

Hell i would rather have Matt Jones over Crab this season. MJ knows the NFL so he could contribute immediatly as Crabby has no clue about the system or the NFL speed and power.

I don't know who Crabtree's agent is, but it sounds like the agent is part of this problem too...

I don't know what holding out will gain him. No one will pay him $35M next year if he sits out. He'll make more money taking SF's deal now than not playing a whole year.

It could be coming down to he just doesn't want to play for SF.

If that's the case demand a trade. So far he's only said that he disliked the offer extended to him from the organization and that if he doesn't get one that he finds reasonable, he will sit out this season and re-enter the 2010 draft.

What a douche. We gotta get him and Brandon Marshall on the same team.
