QB Stafford SEA (sucks)
WR Mike Wallace WAS (he sucks now too i guess)
WR Miles Austin NYG
WR Cribbs SD (conistent return yds for about 6 pts or so... anyone know about SD special teams?)
RB Alfred Morris @PIT (my only good player)
RB Rashad Jennings @GB (haha)
TE Hernandez @STL (NOT PLAYING, probably drop Broyles or DQwell, greg olsen @chi?)
K Gostkowski @STL/london
DEF SF @ AZ (BYE next week, had to drop AZ and they had a tough opponent next week anyway)
D Devin McCourty @STL (Also london concerns)
D Charles Tillman CAR (lookin like DQwell is on the decline for the year)

BN Shonn Greene MIA (tough run D)
BN MJD (OUT INDEFINITELY)
BN Flacco BYE (weak)
BN DQwell Jackson SD
BN Ryan Broyles SEA (clearly this is just a prayer)

All snarkiness aside,

I have chosen you "Da Giz" to evaluate my situation and I will follow your prophetic advise. Not only do I have respect for your football knowledge but I admire your tenacity.
...besides, Line-up Doctor is in my league as are most of the other voices I trust so I'm calling on my fellow Chicagoian to mentor me through this dilemma.

I know I didn't adequately respond to your title post but I saw no question to answer. You basically said "I Suck" and no one is arguing.

Anyhow, this is my conundrum and I will adhere to your advice. (Unless I think you're being a ****)

I have a poor team so I've had to cling to my top guys no matter what. Stafford, Martin, McFadden, VJax and Wayne will start every week. TE is also weak with Bennett/Gresham but I've been comfortable with Bennett.

I'm struggling at flex. This is PPR in a 12 team league. My byes are over.

Lance Moore @ Denver: I really like this dude and I think he would be Brees' Welker if Brees wasn't under so much pressure to spread it around. He's been awesome while Graham was out but Jimmy is back and this is yet another away/grass game for Moore. His reputation is inconsistency and he's had 2 good weeks in a row. Is he really ready to make that "must start" leap?

Mikel Leshoure vs Seattle: I've kind of bought in to the theory that "If you can start an RB at flex, do it". RBs get the touches and every touch is a potential big play. Mikel also gets the goal line work and is active in the passing game. Overall, though...Detroit is scary. They seem to always be playing from behind and don't show up until the 4th quarter. Fumblitis is another concern. I'm afraid Detroit may be about ready to scrap the running game.

Titus Young vs Seattle: I know...dude sucks, but we are in week 8 which is where he broke out last year. Burleson is OUT and Broyles is a rook. Calvin gets all the attention from defenses and as previously mentioned, Detroit may be ready to scrap the run game. When a guy breaks out, it's his 1st break out game that's the best. It's a risky start but I have a decent lead this week thanks to Martin.

To further complicate matters, I am starting the Seattle D.

That's why I have Lance penciled in. I HATE playing against my own defense but D is such a small portion of the scoring (usually). Turn overs and special teams make a great D performance and those will come even IF a WR or RB has a great game.

So, Maestro.....What say you?

Christer... that's a good one... What I will say is my 1st place team is in first largely due to defense, but this is also a league which rewards team DEF and IDP's a lil better than standard scoring leagues. If you have a standard scoring league, then your team D is generally gonna get around 10 or so if you picked well enough, and perhaps more in the event of a TD (not the most far-fetched outcome vs Stafford, even at home). Therefore, playing the SEA DEF against Stafford and possibly Young on your own team isn't the craziest thing to do. I hate doing that also, but, what realistically are your other DEF options? It doesn't sound like there is a viable second option anyway.

As for the flex...

Titus has done virtually nothing... has been a limited participant in practice (knee) and is undersized to boot (5'11" [maybe] 174 lbs [after a training table]) I don't know what sizes the DB's likely to cover young are, or what their tendencies are, to be honest, but i would only look to young if you need a big upside and want to pair him with beat off staff really bad

LeShoure averaged 5.2 yds/carry against the bears here (we do like to bend however) and 4.7 @ PHI... Add to that he's really all they have. He WILL touch the ball for sure. How much, and if he will put one on the turf, well... remains to be seen. He HAS fumbled twice in 4 games in the NFL. Last week's, however, he was stretching for the goal line, and really missed it by only an inch or so before it got punched out. Seattle is brutal on the run, sure, but is Russel Wilson/Lynch going to take a giant lead on the road vs Detroit's stout D?? Suh got woken up last week, it seemed. They are tough on the run for sure and the bears at home were only able to muster 13 points (7 on the first drive, and granted cutler wasn't the same after the suh judo takedown). Leshoure will continue to see goal line touches as well. If he is able to get that extra inch the punch out is meaningless and we are talking a totally different game last monday.... Keep in mind too that I will almost always default to the RB as well, but I don't think it's really such a bad matchup for leshoure, and in standard scoring RBs generally come away with 5 or 6 on bad days even

Lance Moore... So is Graham for sure back? At what capacity? Cuz he caught jack and **** the last time he played. Lance has been surprisingly consistent (for him) this year as well. He is also undersized (5'9" 190lbs, again, allegedly), however, which always scares me... in injury concern, in will brees be able to see him, and in can the ball be placed where he can grab it in a given situation. I like Moore a lot, and am not overly impressed with denver's secondary. meachem made some plays as second fiddle (or third, if you include gates) which bodes well for moore... i like the moore play as well

Sorry, had to hit enter cuz i wrote all that and my computer froze for 8 minutes... if i had lost it... well... anyway to your question i lean leshoure, but like moore as well... young not so much, that's why i have broyles and not titus...

To my post... I'm mainly asking what, if anything, i do?? I guess the most prudent move at the moment is drop D'Qwell for Greg Olsen, Jared Cook, Coby Fleener, or some other ww TE. After that, just hang on to these dudes and hope?? I really dont know. I guess it is a good week to rely on DEF, D, Alfie, and perhaps even Rashad, austin and wallace... especially since my opponent, although he has rodgers, GB DEF, Crosby, and Clay Matthews, has already played VJax, Mike Williams, and LG Blount to the tune of 12 pts. That's huge for me. Also he is so far starting a TE on BYE. So again, a couple more wins and my weekly scraping garbage together to eek out wins may continue to work. Im just lookin for outside advice, or opinions on who to get, and who to drop perhaps. I see that D'Qwell is prime for dropping, but next week McCourty, Hernandez, Gostkowski, and others are on bye. And i have 3 of the top 10 IDP's for the league. If there's a trade to be had, maybe it's in there. Doubtful though

For starters, I can't help you at all with IDP or Special Teams. That sucks cuz I'd really like to offer insight after you fought thru a frozen PC to make your post.

At a glance, you appear to be offensively challenged at nearly all positions and your small bench doesn't leave you much wiggle room. I haven't seen Cribbs in a fantasy line-up since 2010 but that goes back to those return yards I know nothing about.

Your limited roster size doesn't give you the luxury of carrying back-ups or hopefuls, especially thru the bye-weeks so I'm looking for guys you could dump for startable options. Under the circumstances, I'd add Flacco to the list. He's not much (if any) better than what's on the wire (depending on your wire) and that roster spot is valuable right now.

Broyles is droppable, obviously, but is also playable now that Nate is out. You've GOT to clear a spot for a bye week DST cuz you can't just throw SF away. I'd do that this week. Miami and TB both have soft match-ups in 9 but I trust you can find the best play on your wire.

You've also got to get a playable TE. Olsen and Cook you've mentioned but I'm not crazy about either this week. Don't overlook Fassano vs Jets and if Dustin Keller is available I think he is ready to come on strong. Miami @ Jets could be played in a monsoon so keep that in mind. If Hernandez is continues to drag up you also want to look at Dallas Clark with TB. He's suddenly getting looks from Freeman and making the most of them.

That's 2 spots you need to clear and if it were me, Flacco would be one of them.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom with me and I've enjoyed sharing my wisdumb with you.

Good luck!

Just mentioning it as I just missed out on getting him in one league. He is an 80 point WR in that league but your return scoring may be different. He returned kicks early in the season then was shifted to the Ravens where he just started returning kicks again a couple of games ago.

he is half a point up on cribbs, and does actually catch passes... probably gonna go with it next week if i have any roster spots

Oh, Giz...

How could you do this to me? Didn't I give you Keller? (12pts).

You stuck me with Leshoure (7) while Titus went off for 33.

Even Slabaugh recommended Titus

It's all good, though. I'm gonna win but I COULD have been top scorer for the 2nd week in a row.

It's my faullt. I should have known better than to trust a guy from the City of Broad Egos

I DID say big upside... And that Leshoure GUARANTEES 5 or 6... ugh... sorry though for real... Also if it makes you feel any better when i left for work I was hearing 20-30 mph winds in jersey, so i quickly dropped keller for olsen, although keller got 4 pts in my league and olsen got 1. I was thinking about that as i heard tidbits of stats at work, hoped it idnt cost you the game at least, and then i was like well maybe he went moore or something. Anyway, I have to say, I think the titus performance (as well as stafford's, if i have to call him a beat off every week to get this production, i will) were unexpected and unlikely to say the least... And to reiterate, if you needed the upside :) My "don't fear seahawks d on the road AS MUCH" theory looking decent also. So while not a complete dick, I still do apologize

Hell Giz,

Who could have guessed?

Had I NOT consulted you (put the brick on your shoulders) I would have not started Young either. We both, actually, had it pegged but neither of us had the balls to go public with it.

I'm having a good week so it's not like you screwed me or anything....Besides, when I ask for advice it's STILL my decision whether I take it or not.

It could get really ugly if Moore goes off tonight. I don't mind being wrong but being DEAD wrong sucks.
